Wireless Network Bridging

WLAN bridging is a technology that allows two different networks to be connected wirelessly, using the same technology that provides wireless network access to laptop computers. This is accomplished by attaching amplifiers and high-gain directional antennas to off-the-shelf wireless access points or routers. It is frequently used where DSL or fibre is not available or is prohibitively expensive (such as buildings in remote rural areas) and can provide connection speeds of 5-60 Mbps for distances up to 10 Km.
